Company History Datacover Inc was formed in 1983 to produce protective switch covers for IBM computers and peripherals. Datacovers were successful in preventing Accidental Shutdown, and a whole line of protective covers was born. Then, later, about 1990, IBM redesigned the machines, tucking the switches and controls away, out of site and touch.
